A White Wedding at Notley Abbey for Laura and Lee
Notley Abbey, a gorgeous wedding venue on the Oxfordshire/Buckinghamshire border, was the setting for Laura and Lee’s big day. Their wedding flowers, as you’ll see, really made a very stylish statement…
Laura and Lee were an absolute delight to work with. They were super excited about their wedding day and chose a black and white colour scheme for the big day. This colour scheme combined bold touches with classically elegant wedding styling and everything came together beautifully.
Laura and her bridesmaids all wore white and Laura’s dress featured an amazing plunging neckline. The groom and groomsmen, on the other hand, wore black suits with sharp white shirts and they looked fantastic.
However, there was definitely a touch of colour to be seen. Laura added a flash of red to her bridal ensemble with her red-soled Louboutin heels. Lee picked up this colour too with his red rose buttonhole, specifically chosen to complement Laura’s shoes!
When we were planning the floral scheme, we decided on white hydrangeas with a scattering of ivory roses to soften the colour palette. Laura and Lee also asked that we use as little foliage as possible so that the overall look was as crisp and clean as possible. Without the greenery, that gentle touch of ivory became even more important because it added just enough contrast to really show the white hydrangeas off at their best.
The tale centres absolutely were true centrepieces in every sense of the word. We used beautiful aluminium candelabras on the guest tables and dressed them with white candles and strings of crystals alongside the hydrangeas, roses, and wisps of Gypsophila. We then dressed the top table with a low central display, flanked by smaller aluminium vases.
I also have to mention the huge flower-filled urns that were a real feature of the day. These gorgeously abundant arrangements were focal points during the ceremony and were then carried through to the reception to be enjoyed all day long.
And Laura, Lee and all their guests really did enjoy themselves. As did we.
