Wedding Bells at Bunkers Barn for Mandy & Rob
It’s time to look back to a beautiful 2017 wedding at Bunkers Barn. Mandy and Rob chose me as their wedding florist for their rustic barn wedding and I couldn’t have been happier.
Working to Mandy’s ‘true English Rose’ brief, their wedding flowers were filled with charm and my designs had a very vintage vibe. I love this look for country weddings and it’s as popular as ever. It’s such a pretty, romantic style for weddings, especially during the more sunny months.
And Mandy and Rob really did enjoy a gloriously sunny wedding day. The soft pinks alongside the blush, ivory and white tones were just heavenly and worked perfectly with the relaxed and informal feel of the day.
As always, the bride’s bouquet really sets the scene and Mandy’s featured big, blowsy roses and peonies. Mandy really didn’t want her bouquet to have that very neat, overly structured appearance so we created something that had a looser, ‘just picked from the garden’ vibe.
The flowers for the couple’s reception followed this style too. Mandy and her mum had spent months searching the local antique centres for vintage terracotta pots. We then filled their fabulous finds with more delicious seasonal Roses, Peonies, and fresh Lavender. Set on the tables against the crisp white linen, the overall look was just perfect.
We’ve been seeing a lot more foliage used in weddings recently and Mandy and Rob embraced this trend too. My favourite element of their floral scheme just had to be the heavenly flower curtain that hung behind the top table. Delicate foliage garlands accessorised with more roses, peonies and carnations too framed the newlyweds during their wedding breakfast. This beautiful decoration provided a stunning backdrop and really made a highlight of the top table.
It was a joy to be part of Mandy and Rob’s wedding at Bunkers Barn and we send them all our love and best wishes for the future.
